In the FIRST Tech Challenge, teams design, build, and program a 18"x18" robot which they will use to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Robots are built using pre-approved robotics kits, parts and materials. Teams develop strategy and build robots based on sound engineering principles. They also engage in outreach events to recruit other students into STEM and robotics.
Teams compete in two qualifying competitions in November & December, with the opportunity to advance to the state competition in mid-December. This is the pipeline program into the high school FRC team.
