TC West Robotics Boosters, a 501(C)3 organization, proudly supports the growing community of FIRST® robotics teams on Traverse City’s west side—from our youngest innovators in elementary school to future engineers and leaders at Traverse City West Middle and Traverse City West Senior High.
Our mission is to inspire students through hands-on STEM education and competitive robotics, offering real-world learning experiences that shape confidence, creativity, and collaboration.
Why robotics? Because in designing, engineering, building, programming and wiring their own robot, students learn the hard skills needed to be successful as they move forward, whether it be college or career. The competitive side of robotics teaches kids how to strategize, work under pressure, problem solve and work with others. As they compete, our teams work in alliances with teams from other parts of the state, nation and even the world.
Soft skills are gained too, as our robotics teams must work with teams from across the state and even the world. They also learn about things such as budgeting and finance, marketing and branding, and community and investor relations. These experiences will last them well beyond the classroom.
